🔧 Core Mechanism Explained

The core of MoveToZero is the "Sedentary Timer" and the "Zero-Step Challenge."

  • Set Sedentary Time: You can customize your sitting duration (adjustable on the App home screen or in Settings).
  • Time's Up!: Once the timer ends, the App will alert you and set a step target (e.g., 100 Steps).
  • Steps to Zero: You must complete the set number of steps, bringing the on-screen step countdown to zero, for the challenge to be registered as a success.
  • Early End: If you tap "End Early" before the step count reaches zero, the current challenge will be recorded as a failure.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

🚶 Step Tracking

Q1: Why is my step count not updating?

A: Please ensure you have granted MoveToZero permission to access "Health" and "Motion & Fitness" data in your iOS settings. The App relies on this data for counting. Also, make sure you carry your phone with you while walking.

Q2: How does the App count my steps?

A: MoveToZero uses the iOS Core Motion framework to obtain highly accurate step data from your device.

Reminders and Notifications

Q3: I set the sedentary time, but I'm not getting the reminder notification.

A: Please check the following:

  • Confirm you have allowed MoveToZero to send Notifications.
  • Check if the App has been force-quit or if you are in Low Power Mode. Please enable Background App Refresh for timely reminders.
  • Verify your system's Do Not Disturb settings to ensure MoveToZero notifications are allowed.

Q4: Can I change the duration of the sedentary timer?

A: Yes, you can adjust the timer by navigating to the App's Settings screen or using the dedicated area on the Home Screen.

🛡️ Challenges and Achievements

Q5: What is the benefit of completing the step challenge?

A: Each successful challenge helps you interrupt prolonged sitting, increases your daily activity, and builds a record of successes, aiding in healthy habit formation.

Q6: If I stop early but already walked the target steps, does it count as a success?

A: No. Our challenge mechanism requires you to complete the entire "Steps to Zero" process. Ending early means you forfeit the challenge, which is designed to promote commitment and follow-through.
